VDL GROEP Profile:

 

VDL Groep is an international industrial company devoted to the development, production and sales of semi-finished products, buses & coaches and other finished products and the assembly of cars. In total, the group consists of 84 operating companies, spread throughout 19 countries with almost 9,500 employees. 

From the head office in Eindhoven, VDL Groep supervises its operating companies, which function independently and are responsible for their own results. This unique structure, consisting of small companies, each with its own specialty, ensures that the collective forms a strong team. A team that provides continuity and flexibility. 

In the subcontracting division, VDL specialises in metalworking, mechatronic systems and system supply, plastics processing and surface treatment. The car assembly division includes the production of passenger cars for third parties. The bus & coach division includes coaches, chassis modules, public transport buses, mini & midi buses and second-hand buses. The finished products division comprises suspension systems for the automotive industry, heating, cooling and air-technical systems, systems for the oil, gas and petrochemical industry, production automation systems, systems for the agricultural sector, sunbeds and roof boxes, container handling equipment, cigar-making and packaging machines, components for bulk handling and dust extraction installations and systems for explosion and fire protection.


VDL Groep has a flat organizational structure with short lines of communication. Continuous effort is put into improving the existing no-nonsense culture, in which informal, personal and open communication predominate. The company culture is best described by the collective VDL motto:

VDL CONTAINERSYSTEMEN

 

VDL Containersystemen develops, manufactures and sells hydraulic container handling systems (hooklift, skiploader and cable systems), container trailers and containers for trucks, trailers and agricultural vehicles. The company also manufactures spreaders for the handling of heavy sea containers. A worldwide network of local partners provides service and after-sales support. In addition, VDL Containersystemen also develops and manufactures Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) for container handling in ports and terminals.
